LIVESTREAM: Sweden – Uppsala 86ers @ Örebro Black Knights – May 19, 3p (9a EST)
The 2-2 Örebro Black Knights will play host to the Uppsala 86ers (1-3) Saturday, May 19 at Behrn Arena in Örebro Sweden in a decisive game for both teams in the five team Swedish Superserien.
In the first meeting between these two, Uppsala came away with a crucial 26-12 victory. In that game, Orebro was missing starting quarterback Raleigh Yeldell III, and despite a 229 yard passing day from veteran WR/DB Johan Stal who was pressed into service, the Black Knights suffered their second straight loss.
Since then, Örebro has won two straight while the 86ers have suffered three consecutive losses and are in danger of missing the playoffs.
The Black Knights are scoring at a rate of 26 points a game but giving up 29.5. However, Uppsala has the worst offense in the league having only scored 50 points in four games.
Örebro leads the league in rushing averaging a whopping 192.5 yards a game and is also the best against the run allowing only 99 yards a game.
Yeldell is averaging 180 yards passing a game while running back Johnny Grandin is the second leading rusher in Sweden so far with 339 yards helped by a monster 256 yards against the Goteborg Marvels. Johannes Lindeus leads Örebro with 336 yards receiving.
Uppsala quarterback John Rock has thrown for 539 yards and six touchdowns in four games. The 86ers running game has received a major reinforcement with the signing of Canadian Dylan Minshull from Brandon, Manitoba. The 6′, 200 lb, 22 year old Minshull has played for the Calgary Colts of the Canadian Junior Football League and the University of Regina Rams. In 2017, he rushed for 665 yards and caught 34 passes for 361 yards for the Colts. In 2016 he rushed for 1,113 in 10 games.
With both teams desperate for a win, this one is tough to predict.
