In the lone game on the schedule in the Swedish Superserien this weekend, the Örebro Black Knights (2-4) travel to Stockholm to face AIK (1-4) in a critical game for both teams.

Both desperately need a win to clinch a playoff berth. The fourth, fifth and sixth spots are open and five teams are battling for them.

A win for Örebro will put them in fourth while an AIK victory would catapult them past the Black Knights with a final game against Oslo which could put them in fourth. The issue for both is that the Oslo Vikings, Limhamn Griffins and even the last place Kristianstad Predators all have a chance to make the post season still.

AIK is coming off a 42-7 loss to the Stockholm Mean Machines last weekend while the Black Knights were shut out 28-0 by the Carlstad Crusaders.

AIK gave up a late touchdown plus the two-point conversion to the Kristianstad Predators in their first game of the season to lose 21-20. However, they atoned for the loss by beating the Limhamn Griffins 15-8 last week. But they then suffered two straight lopsided losses after the Carlstad Crusaders pummeled them 42-0 and the Tyresö Royal Crowns beat them 35-7.

This is the final game of the regular season for Örebro, and they have as yet not secured a playoff spot. Although they earned their second win of the season two weeks ago in beating the Kristianstad Predators 38-2, they still find themselves in a precarious position. They lost 47-29 the week before to the visiting Tyresö Royal Crowns. That loss was their first game since suffering an upset 31-23 loss to the Limhamn Griffins over a month before. They had opened the season by dropping a 39-18 decision to the Stockholm Mean Machines but then got their first win when they beat Norway’s Oslo Vikings 31-19.
