The Stockholm Mean Machines (1-0) will play host to the Limhamn Griffins (0-0) as the Swedish Superserien enters its second weekend of play.

The Mean Machines are coming off a solid 39-18 victory over the Örebro Black Knights last weekend which saw the defense hold Örebro scoreless in the second half. Meanwhile, this is the first game of the season for Limhamn who are newly promoted from Sweden’s Division 1

Stockholm quarterback Mateo Renteria threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns in the win over the Black Knights with his favorite targets being Matthew Retzlaff who had four catches for 62 yards and two scores and Anton Blomgren who caught two passes for 58 yards and one touchdown. Running back Kasper Wedberg proved he is a valuable addition to the Mean Machines after coming over from Örebro, rushing for 72 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries while catching three passes for 49 yards.

Limhamn went unbeaten through the 2023 Division 1 season earning them the right to move up to the top league in Sweden. As of this writing, they have and all Swedish lineup led by quarterback Samuel Jämthammar who will be looking to target wide receivers Rasmus Lindqvist, Pontus Mincert and Theodor Palm. Running backs Alexander Nesic and Adrian Pourlofti will rotate in the backfield.

Expect Stockholm to set the tone early looking to dominate a Griffins squad still trying to get their bearings in the top league in Sweden.
