The Kristianstad Predators (1-2) will play host to the Oslo Vikings (0-4) in the Swedish Superserien today, May 11.
Kristianstad fell to the Stockholm Mean Machines 41-18 two weeks ago after getting their first win the week before, 21-20 against AIK Stockholm. The Predators had suffered a tough opening day loss in their first game back in Sweden’s top league since 2015, when they were trounced by the Carlstad Crusaders 42-6. Oslo suffered a 56-37 loss to the Tyresö Royal Crowns in Oslo in their season opener and then were beaten by the Örebro Black Knights 31-19 in Örebro. Two weeks ago they suffered a 41-8 defeat at the hands of the Carlstad Crusaders but then pushed the Mean Machines last week but lost 34-21.
Watch live PPV. Oslo Vikings @ Kristianstad Predators, May 11, 15:00 CET (3 pm, 9 am EDT).
Predators quarterback Myron Norfleet has thrown for 459 yards and six touchdowns in the three games with Jakob Stenberg as his favorite target hauling in 16passes for 190 yards and four scores. Norfleet is dangerous on the ground as well with 115 yards rushing. Linebacker Max Forsback anchors the front seven for Kristianstad. He has 14 tackles so far while Oscar Mattisson has 12.
The Vikings are led by former NCAA quarterback CJ Fowler, who has completed 44 of 90 passes for 598 yards and five touchdowns in the three games he has played in. Matthew Snawder has 12 catches for 223 yards and three touchdowns while Niklas Fengler has caught eight passes for 124 yards.
Rune Nilsen leads the Vikings in rushing yards with 38 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown. Versatile William Sewell leads the league in tackles with 28 from his defensive end position while linebacker Sigurd Stenseng has 16.5, good for fifth overall.
Although they are on the road, the Vikings need the win and proved last week against the Mean Machines that they can play with any team in the league. This game is anyone’s guess.
