The Gijon Mariners (0-2) will take the five hour trip to Zaragoza Saturday, February 1 to take on the Zaragoza Hurricanes (0-2) at Complejo Deportivo Las Mestas in the third weekend of play in the Spanish Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano.
The Mariners dropped their opening game 33-17 to the Coslada Camioneros and then fell 49-27 to the defending champion Los Rozas Black Demons last week. Zaragoza lost 49-6 to the Black Demons and then were pummeled 42-10 by Osos Rivas.
The last time these two teams met was during the 202/2021 season. The Hurricanes won both games that season, 13-7 and 36-14.
Mariners quarterback Spencer Moore threw four touchdown passes in the loss to Los Rozas last week two of them going to Rubén Quintana. The duo could prove tough for Zaragoza to defend against today.
