The Osos Rivas (4-2) of Madrid will host the Fuengirola Potros (2-4) in one of two Spanish games on AFI TV this weekend.
This game was originally scheduled for January but was postponed due to the pandemic. The last time these two teams played, Osos Rivas won in a 52-0 landslide.
The Osos Rivas enter this game with their place in the playoffs secured. Watch for them to play their entire roster this week as they look to stay healthy and in rhythm before the playoffs. The last game Osos Rivas played was a 48-36 loss against their cross town rival the Las Rozas Black Demons. Quarterback Garrett Dellechiaie has been one of Spain’s best passers this season. Dellechiaie was part of a quarterback duel in that game where the two import passers combined for eight total touchdowns. His team is looking to bounce back from the close loss and get back to their winning ways before the playoffs in early May.
Dellechiaie on the matchup in Feungirola:
“We’re ready to get back to work after the break. Our mindset hasn’t changed, we lost a tough game but our season isn’t over and we know that. We want to finish the regular season strong and that starts with a good practice week and the Potros on Saturday.”
The visiting Feungirola Potros have momentum on their side this week as they come off undoubtedly their best game of the season, beating the Gijon Mariners in an exciting 25-20 game. The Potros and their coaching staff showed their audacious mindset by kicking three onside kicks throughout the game. The wild decision paid off as kicker Noah Richards placed the ball beautifully helping convert all three kicks earning the Potros key additional possessions fueling their comeback victory. This week, look for the Potros to continue this fearless play style. Offensively, the Potros will lean on receiver David Chavez and running back Jose Lopez in this upcoming game against the Osos Rivas.
Chavez on Saturday’s game:
“Tomorrow’s game is obviously going to be hard, mostly because injuries and other factors have led to us having only about half of the team going to Rivas. I think in the last game against Osos we gave up quite early in the game and I hope we don’t make that mistake tomorrow, but rather that we play our best till the very last second.”
Look for the Potros to be confident and play much better in this second matchup with the Osos Rivas. The Osos Rivas can’t sleep walk through this one as the Potros have nothing to lose and will look to catch their opponents off guard.
