The Murcia Cobras will host the Mallorca Voltors as football is back in Spain!
Both teams have playoff aspirations so this game could be a key later on in the season. Look for both teams to be playing passionate and energized football after the long and tumultuous off season. These two teams played each other once before the season was canceled with the Voltors coming out on top 41-16.

The visiting Voltors will have some new faces leading them out on the gridiron. British linebacker Kadel King will be a defensive force for Mallorca after winning a championship with the Kuopio Steelers in Finland earlier this year and then helping the Bydgoszcz Archers reach the semifinals in Poland. Behind King will be defensive back Josh Aleaze, a former Central Connecticut State Blue Devil (NCAA D2) and Kiel Baltic Hurricane (Germany). Offensively, German receiver Josh Richter joins a talented receiving core led by American import Jaylon Hibbs. Hibbs played college football at Centre College (NCAA D3), where he was two time all-conference selection. Throwing to Hibbs will be quarterback Tanner Young, Hibbs’ teammate at Centre College. He threw for 2909 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2018. Look for the Centre College Duo to be in sync week one.
The Murcia Cobras also have some new faces including quarterback Robert Cuda. Cuda played for the Munich Cowboys II in Germany last season. He is a true dual threat quarterback throwing for 7,883 yards and rushing for 2,128 yards during his college career at Case Western University (NCAA D3). Hoping to improve on their performance from earlier this year head coach Alejandro Sotomayor boosted his team by also adding American lineman Nick Ladd. Ladd has previously played for Howard Payne University (NCAA D3) and the Franken Knights in Germany. The Cobras will also bring back Spanish national team defensive back Tachu Orue.
This could be a close game that will be decided in the trenches. Mallorca has a lot of new talent coming into this game so it will be interesting to see how they mesh. Look for both of these dynamic quarterbacks to make some big plays.
