The final game of the weekend in Spain’s Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano will see the two bottom dwellers in the LNFA East conference tangle as the Barcelona Pagesos (0-4) will host the Mallorca Voltors (2-2).
Barcelona, newcomers to the top league this year, have yet to win a game after being shut out by the Voltors 12-0 to open the season and L’Hospitalet Pioners 17-0. They were then pummeled 54-9 by the Badalona Dracs and edged 19-7 by the Zaragoza Hurricanes.
Mallorca on the other hand defeated the Pagesos (12-0) and the L’Hospitalet Pioners (13-7) before also succumbing to the Dracs 50-7. They then were beaten by the Zaragoza Hurricanes 35-19.

For Mallorca, quarterback Zahir Wilder (Montclair State) is the key. He threw three touchdown passes in the loss to the Hurricanes, hitting Santiago González, Calum Davidson and Jonathan Chele with scoring passes. Davidson is now the fourth leading receiver in the league in terms of touchdown catches with 18.
For the Pagesos, this could be another long game. The team is relying on the Spanish roster that won them the Division 2 title and earned them promotion to Spain’s top tier. Still, their performance in their last outing against the Hurricanes was an improvement and they could surprise. Nevertheless, even though it’s a tough road game for the Voltors, they badly need the win to keep pace as they still have a shot at a playoff spot.
