The unbeaten Mallorca Voltors (2-0) will travel to Barcelona Saturday, February 10 to face the undefeated Badalona Dracs (2-0) as the Spanish League of Football enters its fourth weekend of action.
The Dracs had no trouble disposing of the Zaragoza Hurricanes 49-14 and the Barcelona Pagesos 50-7 to open the season. Meanwhile, Mallorca blanked the Pagesos 12-0 and then got by the L’Hospitalet Pioners 13-7.
Badalona defeated the Voltors twice in 2023, 17-6 and 56-36.
With versatile Alpha Jalloh playing quarterback in the win over the Pagesos, the Badalona offense was on fire. Jalloh scored three times on his own and threw another one to David Martínez before handing the ball over to Pau Berglund. Running back Ra’Von Bonner scored twice giving the Dracs a potent offense that the visiting Voltors will have to contend with today.
For Mallorca quarterback Zahir Wilder (Montclair State) is the key. He threw two touchdown passes in the win over the Pioners, one to Santiago González and the other to Jonathan Chele. He will push the Dracs defense,
Still, Badalona has looked impressive to open the season and playing at home will be a tough opponent for the traveling Mallorca squad.
