LIVESTREAM Spain: Las Rozas Black Demons @Coslada Camioneros, March 5, 12:00 CET (12 noon, 6 am ET)
The unbeaten Las Rozas Black Demons (5-0) head across town in Madrid to take on the 2-3 Coslada Camioneros on a busy Sunday in the Spanish National League of American Football (LNFA).
As one of three games in the LNFA, this contest features the top team in Spain against a surprisingly strong newcomer to the elite division.
The Black Demons, runners up in 2022, won their opening game of the season by beating the Camioneros 14-7 and followed that up with a historic victory as they defeated the defending champions, Osos Rivas, 3-2, in the lowest scoring game in the top division ever. They then walloped the Alcobendas Cavaliers 48-0 and Gijon Mariners 56-14 before edging Osos 7-0 in another low scoring affair.
The Caminoneros, one of the two newcomers to the top league this season, have put together a 2-3 record. They opened the year with a tough 14-7 loss to the Black Demons but then won two straight, beating Alcobendas 28-14 and the Mariners 21-14 before losing to Osos 7-3 and then the Cavaliers 14-8.
Mexican quarterback Hector Hernandez leads the Camioneros offense along with veteran wide receiver MJ Williams (Copenhagen Towers). If these two can continue to build on their connection, they could make this Camioneros offense one to look out for.
Las Rozas Black Demons @Coslada Camioneros, March 5, 12:00 CET (12 noon, 6 am ET)
On defense Coslada has played well, holding opponents to an average of 12.5 points a game. However, the front seven led by Serbian linebacker Peter Stevanak and his Spanish teammates will be hard pressed to contain the Black Demons league-leading offense, averaging 25.6 points a game.
Las Rozas relies on Canadian quarterback Theo Landers who seems to have found his rhythm. Running backs Daniel Romero and veteran Marcos de la Mata, give the league leaders a solid ground game.
Black Demons head coach Sam Eisenstadt has his team rolling now and although Coslada has actually looked impressive on the season, despite the three losses, they could be in for a long afternoon in their home stadium.
