The Las Rozas Black Demons (6-0) will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games when they make the crosstown trip in Madrid to face the 1-4 Alcobendas Cavaliers as the Spanish National League of American Football heads into the home stretch.
This is the second meeting between the two this season. Las Rozas won the first encounter easily, blanking the Cavaliers 48-0. Alcobendas suffered four straight losses before beating the Coslada Camioneros last week 14-8. They were beaten by Coslada 28-14 to open the season then whipped by Osos Rivas 38-0 and the Black Demons before losting to the Gijon Mariners 40-20.
For the Cavaliers, quarterback David Yu will have to find a way to spark an offensive squad that has no import players and has scored a league low 48 points in five games.
The Black Demons, runners up in 2022, won their opening game of the season by beating the Camioneros 14-7 and followed that up with a historic victory as they defeated the defending champions, Osos Rivas, 3-2, in the lowest scoring game in the top division ever. They then walloped Alcobendas 48-0 and the Gijon Mariners 56-14 before edging Osos 7-0 in another low scoring affair. Finally, Las Rozas flexed their muscles against Coslada in their second meeting, blanking them 44-0.
Las Rozas relies on Canadian quarterback Theo Landers who is playing excellent football and with running backs Daniel Romero and veteran Marcos de la Mata providing a potent ground game, the Black Demons look formidable going into this game.
