The Gijon Mariners (1-2) travel to Madrid, Saturday, February 15 to face the Osos Rivas (2-1) in a battle in the Spanish National League of American Football West Division.

Osos Rivas defeated the Zaragoza Hurricanes two weeks ago 42-10 following a 35-10 win over the Coslada Camioneros the week before. In the opening game of the season, Osos lost to reigning Spanish champions, the Las Rozas Black Demons 21-14 in a rematch of the 2024 title game.

The Mariners are coming off a 13-7 victory over the Hurricanes after losing their first two games of the season. They were beaten 33-17 by the Camioneros in their opening game and then fell 49-27 to the reigning champion Las Rozas Black Demons.

In the two games between these two teams in 2024, Osos Rivas prevailed easily both times, 39-0 and 49-21.
