The Barcelona Pagesos (0-2) will travel across town to face the Badalona Dracs (1-0) as the Spanish League of American Football enters Week #3 of the 2024 season.
The Dracs looked impressive in their opening game last week, rolling over the Zaragoza Hurricanes 49-14. Barcelona, on the other hand, newcomers to the top league this year, have yet to score a point in two games, after being shut out by the Mallorca Voltors 12-0 and L’Hospitalet Pioners 17-0.
The Badalona offense led by running back Ra’von Bonner (Temple University) and versatile Alpha Jalloh, is formidable. Bonner rushed for three scores last week while Jalloh scored twice, once in the air and once on the ground. With veteran Sergi Gonzalo at quarterback, the Dracs will be hard to stop.
For the Pagesos, this could be a long game. The team is relying on the Spanish roster that won them the Division 2 title and earned them promotion to Spain’s top tier. But against Badalona that will be tough. The Dracs have their sights set on returning to the podium in 2024 after only reaching the semifinals for the past two seasons.
