The 3-1 Osos Rivas will host the Alcobendas Cavaliers (0-4) in the fifth weekend of action in Spain’s Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano.

Osos Rivas rolled over the Cavaliers earlier in the season, blanking them 38-0. They also beat the Gijon Mariners 41-21 and blanked the Coslada Camioneros 48-0 but fell to the defending champion Las Rozas Black Demons 10-6. After dropping a tough 28-14 decision to the Coslada Camioneros in their opening game, Alcodendas suffered a pair of lopsided losses to Osos (38-0) and Las Rozas Black Demons (48-0).

For Osos Rivas, quarterback Russell Tabor has been outstanding this season. He leads the league with 13 scoring passes. He threw five touchdown passes in the win over Coslada and four in his team’s victory over the Mariners, each to a different receiver, Ángel Marín, Daniel Salazar, Eduardo Pérez and José Pablo Olivares. Former Potsdam Royal, Ronald Tomasello, anchors the Osos Rivas defense.

For the Cavaliers, quarterback David Yu will have to find a way to spark an offensive squad that has no import players and has scored 14 points in three games. This will be a tall order against a Mariners team that has added a pair of imports.

Alcobendas face a daunting task against a surging Osos Rivas squad.
