The defending Spanish champions, the Las Rozas Black Demons (1-0) will open their Spanish LNFA Serie A home schedule Saturday, January 27 against the visiting Alcobendas Cavaliers (0-2).

The Black Demons had no trouble defeating the Coslada Camioneros 35-6 last week. The Cavaliers on the other hand lost their first two games of the season, dropping a 34-6 decision to the Osos Rivas and then losing 27-21 to the Gijon Mariners.

These two teams faced each other twice in 2023 with Las Rozas coming out on top both times, 48-0 and 35-23.

Las Rozas looked impressive as the game wore on in last week’s win. After a slow start, quarterback Theo Landers began finding his receivers throwing touchdown passes to Emilio Ibáñez and Jorge García-Valcárcel in the first half while running a third score in himself. Landers also found Dominic Coffman for a fourth touchdown before being relieved by Jesús García-Valcárcel who tossed a final touchdown pass to Álvaro Molano.

Cavaliers second-year quarterback David Yu threw two touchdown passes in last week’s loss to the Mariners and ran another one in himself. One of his key receivers is Rubén Pascual who has caught touchdown passes on both losses.
