LIVESTREAM: Poland – Warsaw Mets @Białystok Lowlanders, Sat. May 25, 7p CEDT (1p EDT)
The Białystok Lowlanders (4-2) will play host to the 3-3 Warsaw Mets Saturday, May 25 in Białystok in Poland’s Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego.
The Lowlanders are coming off of three straight wins including a big 22-8 defeat of the Gdynia Seahawks. They then beat the Krakow Kings 37-7 and the Olsztyn Lakers 48-7.
Bialystok’s quarterback Rex Dausin has looked impressive in recent games after missing one game earlier in the season with a minor injury. Running back Krzysztof Czaplejewicz (#26) has been a key and has scored six touchdowns in five games and is one of the top three rushers in the league. Rookie Rafał Królewski (#17), who only started playing football a few months ago, has scored two touchdowns in the last two games. The offense also relies heavily on wide receiver Eryk Mąkowski. The defense is anchored by linebacker Zachary Blair, who can also double as a running back.
The Mets are coming off a 49-21 loss to the Wroclaw Panthers. They had won two in a row beating the KIngs and the Lakers before that after suffering a 25-7 loss to the Gdynia Seahawks . They had shut out the Lodz Wilki 42-0 after losing their opening game to the Tychy Falcons, 31-13.
Under head coach Matthew Dias, and his quarterback Terrance Owens, the Mets are a bit of a dark horse. Owens led the Gdynia Seahawks to the Polish final in 2016 and is a proven winner. Warsaw has shown they can score points and will get a good chance to do so in this game
