The Silesia Rebels (2-1) will play host to the Warsaw Eagles (2-1) in a key Polish Football League matchup as the 2024 regular season reaches the midpoint.

This is the first meeting between the two teams this season. Silesia defeated the Eagles in 2023 in the only game these two teams faced each other, beating Warsaw 40-34.

The Rebels kicked off their 2024 campaign by defeating their 2023 Polish Bowl nemesis, the Bialystok Lowlanders, 30-19 at home. They then traveled to Warsaw to have another high-scoring slug fest in beating their 2023 semifinal opponents, the Warsaw Mets, 43-40. However, they suffered their first defeat of the season two weeks ago when the league-leading Krakow Kings beat them soundly, 48-23.

Meanwhile, Eagles opened up the season with a 19-9 home loss against the Krakow Kings and turned around and beat the defending Polish Champions, the Bialystok Lowlanders, on the road, 36-14. They then handed the Warsaw Mets a 47-17 thrashing two weeks ago.

This game will come down to defenses and this is where the Eagles have the edge. So far, Warsaw has given up an average of 16.6 points a game while the Rebels have surrendered 107 points in their three contests, an average of 35.6 points a game. This could well the the deciding factor between two teams battling to keep pace with the undefeated Krakow Kings.
