The Krakow Kings (2-0) will be looking to stay unbeaten when they host the Silesia Rebels (1-1) Sunday, April 23 as the Polish Football League winds up its third weekend of action.
The last time these two met was during the 2022 season and the Kings came away with a 41-0 win.
Krakow opened the season by beating the Wroclaw Jaguars 34-21, and then last week held on to get by the surging Warsaw Mets 26-25. Silesia dropped their first game of the season 36-28 to the Tychy Falcons but rebounded with a 30-20 win over the Olsztyn Lakers.
Kings running back Jan Szwej was a key in the win over Warsaw last week, scoring two touchdowns. The week before he found the end zone for three of the Kings five touchdowns over the Jaguars. Quarterback Taylor King has a strong arm and can find receivers Bernard Wiązania, Tomasz Nowak, and Piotr Łakomski. The defense is anchored by linebacker Darrell Wallace who scored a touchdown in the opening game on a fumble return.
For the Rebels, quarterback David James (Western Connecticut State Colonials – NCAA DIII) is back for his second season and so far, has tossed five touchdown passes in the two games. His favorites targets are receivers Leonard Sosoclis, Robert Szmielak and Dawid Kaczor. Running back Bartosz Słomka has three touchdowns to his credit so far, two on the ground. Linebacker Drequan Reed anchors the defense
