The Gdynia Seahawks take the five hour bus ride to Białystok Saturday to face the Lowlanders in the second game of the Polish League of American Football 2018 season.
Gdynia won their opener last week, defeating the Tychy Falcons 40-14 while the Lowlanders dropped a 37-13 decision to the defending champion Wroclaw Panthers.
The last time these two teams met was in the Polish semifinals in 2017 when Gdynia came out on top 59-26. During the 2017 regular season, the Lowlanders defeated Gdynia 23-13.
At quarterback, the Lowlanders have Ryan Kasdorf, who played for the Ancona Dolphins in Italy for two seasons and who was one of the top five passers in the league in 2017. Gdynia’s Joey Bradley has had an impressive run in Europe since arriving in Portugal with the Lisbon Devils. He led Lisbon to two straight Portuguese titles before arriving in Poland partway through the 2017 season. He helped guide the Seahawks to the Polish final losing to the Wroclaw Panthers.
