LIVESTREAM Norwegian Championship Game: Eidsvoll 1814s vs Oslo Vikings, Oct. 15, 15:00 CET (3 pm, 9 am ET)
The Oslo Vikings and Eidsvoll 1814s will square off Saturday, October 15 in the Norwegian Championship Game for the fourth time since 2016.
The Vikings won all three previous title game matchups between the two (2016, 2017 and 2019) as well as the 2018 title when they beat the Asane Seahawks. The 1814s last captured the championship in Norway in 2013 when they defeated the Kristiansand Gladiators.
Oslo rolled through the regular season without a blemish, winning all six games including both matchups against the 1814s, downing them 27-15 and 35-14. They then beat the Vålerenga Trolls 44-0 in the semifinals. Eidsvoll finished the season with a 4-2 record and downed the Gladiators 28-6 in the semifinals.
The Vikings offense, led by quarterback Jesber Johnsen (who has returned from an injury that kept him out of two games) rolled up 213 points in six games (35.5 points/game). Running back Jesper Jørgensen has been a key along with wide receiver Eric Ford.
Defensively, Oslo is led by defensive lineman Will Sewell who had 29 tackles including 11.5 tackles for loss and six sacks, along with defensive end Thomas Sundby (15.5 tackles/4.5 tackles for loss). The secondary is anchored by defensive back Jacob Ribert who recorded 23.5 tackles while grabbing two interceptions.
For Eidsvoll, quarterback Michael Hall guides the second leading scoring team racking up 207 points in the regular season. His key targets are wide receiver/running back August Søgaard as well as wideout/running back Tor Erik Stensjøen.
Two of the key players on the 1814s defense are defensive end Jørgen Alnæs as well as linebacker Karl Berg.
