The Condors (0-1) take on the Raptors Sunday in Mexico City in the second weekend of the 2018 Liga de Futbol Americano (LFA) season.
The Condors are coming off a devastating 36-19 defeat last week at the hands of the Mexicas which saw them completely collapse in the second half after holding a 19-13 halftime lead. They will be facing a Raptors team brimming with confidence after they annihilated the defending champion Mayas, 32-0.
Condors quarterback José Miguel Chávez Mess “Popotes” may have had an acceptable first game, but he failed to be the offensive leader the team needed and with Diego Pérez Arvizu and veteran Salvador Castañeda waiting in the wings, his time at starter may be shortened.
It wasn’t just the offense though. The Condors defense did not adjust well in the second half of the opening game either, surrendering 23 points.
For the Raptors on the other hand, Bruno Marquez had a dream afternoon with four touchdown passes and 314 yards in the air. WR José Manuel Barrios also showed off his offensive skills hauling in three touchdown receptions.
