LIVESTREAM: Mexico – Querétaro Pioneros v. Puebla Artilleros, Sat. Feb. 29, 12p (1p ET, 7p CET)
The 0-3 Querétaro Pioneros will face the 0-3 Puebla Artilleros Saturday, February 29 at the Olympic Stadium of the Benemérita Autonomous University of Puebla in Mexico’s Liga De Futbol Americano (LFA) fourth-round action.
Puebla was beaten 29-18 by the Condors last week after losing two close contests, dropping a 12-10 decision to the Dinos and a 26-24 game to the Mexico City Mexicas. The Pioneros were whipped 29-7 by the Condors, 19-2 by the Raptors, and 23-3 by the Fundidores.
Pioneros quarterback Ryan Pahos has yet to find his rhythm and the offense is by far the worst in the league having produced just 12 points in three games. That leaves the defense on the field far too long and that has resulted in 71 points scored against, also worst in the LFA. American running back Joshua Wesley (Howard Payne) should give the offense some punch while wide receiver Shaquez Ty’el Strickland (ASA College) can stretch a defense. But the offensive line needs to improve.
For the Artilleros, quarterback Diego Ruíz Gómez has a “range” of options with wide receivers Humberto Noriega (6), Rodrigo Arias (31) and Eduardo Retana (81).
The team from Puebla has also struggled defensively, giving up 67 points in the three losses.
The advantage has to go to the home team.
