The Ljubljana Silverhawks will play host to the Danube Dragons in Austrian Football League action Saturday, April 21 at Stadion Ivancna Gorica in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
This will be the second time these two teams face each other in the young Austrian Football League season. Danube defeated the Silverhawks 23-12 on the opening weekend of play in Austria.
Since then Ljubljana has defeated the Traun Steelsharks and lost to the Vienna Vikings. The Dragons followed up their opening day win with a loss, also to Vienna.
Silverhawks quarterback Zach Cavanaugh is the second leading passer in Austria with 976 yards and 11 touchdowns. Matic Tomse of the Silverhawks continues to lead the league in reception yardage with 409 yards and 7 TDs.
Danube has the second best defense in the league allowing 27 points a game, but the worst offense scoring only 15 points on average per game. Dragons quarterback Chad Jeffries has thrown for 425 yards and three touchdowns but he is also his team’s leading rusher with 97 yards.
