The defending champions, the Fujitsu Frontiers, Japan #1, take on the eight-time champions, the Obic Seagulls, Japan #4, in a huge clash Sunday, October 7 at Fujitsu Stadium.

These two last met in the X League semifinals in 2017 with Fujitsu coming away with a shutout win.

The Frontiers (4-0), with quarterback Michael Birdsong (James Madison, Marshall, Tennessee Tech) and running back Trashaun Nixon (New Mexico State) (752 yards averaging, 12.5 yards per carry) have looked formidable again in 2018. With a defense anchored by linebacker Joe Mathis (Washington) and defensive back Al-Rilwan Adeyami.

Obic (3-1) has only dropped one game so far this season and is led by quarterback Skyler Howard (West Virginia) who threw for three touchdowns last week in a 24-0 blanking of the Elecom Kobe Finies. The defense features veteran linebacker BJ Beatty who had four sacks in last week’s win.
