LIVESTREAM: Italy – Torino Giaguari @Bergamo Lions, Sunday, March 24, 2:30p CEST (9:30a EDT)
The 0-2 Bergamo Lions return to the friendly confines of C.C. Azzano field in Bergamo, Italy to face the Torino Giaguari (01) from Turin in the third round of Italy’s Div. I on Sunday March 24.
The Lions opened the season with a tough 37-0 loss to the reigning and back-to-back champions, the Milano Seamen but followed that up with a much better performance last week, losing a tight one to 2018 Italian finalists, the Bolzano Giants, 28-24. Bergamo head coach Adam Rita kept faith in his young starting quarterback as Andrea Fimiani threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns in the narrow loss to Bolzano. Receiver Riccardo Brambilla caught six passes for 116 yards while running back Alexander Germany rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 48 yards and another score.
Torino quarterback Mark Wright threw for 150 yards and a touchdown in the Giaguari’s 41-7 week 1 loss to Bolzano with Adehkeem Brown as his leading receiver with four catches for 64 yards. Brown also had two carries for 18 yards, blocked a punt and recorded two tackles. In other words, he is everywhere on the field so Bergamo will have to keep an eye on him.
This game would have to favor the Lions given their performance against Bolzano last week and the fact that they are playing at home.
