The Bergamo Lions (0-4) will host the Milano Rhinos (1-3) Sunday, March 30 at C.C. Azzano field in Bergamo as the seventh weekend of action in the Italian Football League winds up.
The Lions are still looking for their first win of the year in their first year back in the top league since 2019.
The Lions fell 35-10 to the Parma Panthers and then 34-7 to the Legnano Frogs before being beaten by the Bologna Warriors 19-14. They then lost 48-14 to the Ancona Dolphins.
The Rhinos defeated the Warriors 38-0 on the opening weekend of play but then fell 35-14 to the Parma Panthers. Two weeks ago they lost 28-9 to the Dolphins and then 35-14 to the Frogs last weekend.
Lions quarterback Jay Butterfield (San Jose State) has completed 68 of 135 passes for 602 yards and five touchdowns but has been picked off seven times. Luca Aldrighetti has caught 21 of those passes for 162 yards and a score while Giovanni Zani has 14 receptions for 158 yards and two touchdowns.
Rhinos quarterback Marquez McCray (Monmouth University) has looked solid in the opening four games of the season throwing for 646 yards and eight touchdowns. His favorite target is speedy wide receiver Jordan Bouah who hauled in 14 passes for 276 yards and five of those touchdowns. Bouah returned to the IFL this season after spending three years in the European League of Football with the Vienna Vikings.
