The Abisola Pirates (0-1), newcomers to Italy’s top league, will host the Lazio Marines (0-2) in a battle of two teams looking for their first win of the Italian Football League season, Sunday, March 9 at  CS Luceto Albisola field.

This is the first meeting between these two teams.

The Pirates lost their opening game of the 2025 season after getting pounded 49-0 by the Firenze Guelfi.

The Marines opened the season losing 48-14 to the Torino Giaguari on the road and then were also beaten by the Guelfi, 42-13.

Pirates quarterback Jordy Baidal threw for a mere 44 yards in that shutout loss to the Guelfi. In fact, Abisola only mustered 91 yards in total offense.

Marines quarterback Josiah Norwood has thrown for only 282 yards and two scores but he has rushed for 118 yards and another score.

In this battle of the basement dwellers, the experience of the Marines will no doubt be the deciding factor.
