The Legnano Frogs will play host to the Ancona Dolphins as both teams open their 2024 Italian Football League season.

The Frogs finished the 2023 season with a 3-5 record and out of the playoffs while Ancona reached the IFL semifinals. In the only game between the two last year, the Dolphins defeated Legnano 40-6, also on the road on the opening weekend of play.

Legnano has re-signed quarterback Eystin Salum while adding former Cleveland Browns receiver Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi. In 2023, Salum was definitely a dual threat throwing for 954 yards and five touchdowns in seven games while rushing for 591 yards and 11 scores. Also returning is the team MVP, Antonio Gianera.

Under head coach Roberto Rotelli and with the return of quarterback Collin DiGalbo (Kutztown University) the Dolphins will no doubt be a contender once again. They have bolstered the second best defense in Italy last year with the signing of former D1 safety Bo Sanders (Elon University) and D1 linebacker Julian Wlodarczyk (North Dakota State).
