LIVESTREAM: International Bowl – United States U-19 National Team vs. Canada U-19
The seventh annual International Bowl will be broadcast live Sunday with some of the finest high school football players in the United States taking on Canada’s top high schoolers in Arlington, Texas.
Each year, the most talented players from across the United States and Canada compete during USA Football’s International Bowl series as top high school-age student-athletes represent their countries in one last game before beginning their college careers.
This will be the first year that these two Under-19 teams will play at the home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas.
History
The U.S. Under-19 National Team is 5-1 in the International Bowl, including 2-0 vs. Canada. The U.S. is 4-1 overall vs. Canada at this age level.
The United States won the 2015 game, 35-0, with strong performances from players on both sides of the ball. In 2014, the United States defeated Canada, 42-7.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Canada
Jesse Amankwaa – running back – Etobicoke, Ont. In his first season with the York Lions in 2015, Amankwaa rushed for nearly 700 yards and four touchdowns. In addition to being named to the 2015 OUA all-rookie team, this downhill runner also took home OUA Rookie of the Year accolades.
United States
Mecole Hardman Jr. – wide receiver – Bowman, Ga. The top-rated athlete in the nation by many recruiting outlets, Hardman was called one of “the most coveted uncommitted commodities” in the 2016 class by Bleacher Report. The Elbert County (Ga.) High School product is expected to play either wide receiver or defensive back, if not both, in college.
Other games
Four U.S. National Teams will join U.S. Select Teams to compete in a series of games against Canadian National Teams. More than 500 top U.S. high school and junior high athletes will represent their country on the football field.
