Team Australia will face Panama in the consolation round of the 2024 IFAF U20 World Junior Championships in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Australians lost to Team Japan 50-6 in their opening game while Panama were 86-12 losers to the United States.

This will be the first meeting ever between these two countries.

In the loss to Japan, Australian wide receiver Ben Heath stood out scoring an 80-yard touchdown.

Meanwhile for Panama, who last appeared in the tournament in 2012, quarterback Cristian Restrepo tossed touchdown passes to wide receiver Juan Pablo Bilbao and running back Francisco Saldivar. Running back Leonaardo Anderson is also a key after he rushed for 61 of his team’s 99 yards of offense against USA.

The winner of this game will move on to face the winner of the game between Team Canada2 and Brazil.
