Türkiye kicks off its 2024/25 IFAF European Championships Level 2 campaign at home to Ireland on Sunday, November 3, at the Hasan Dogan Stadium in Ankara.
Last year Türkiye played a momentous first-ever international game away to Ireland, and a win at the MTU Stadium in Bishopstown, Cork earned a 15th place overall finish.
Ireland has already posted a win during the current European campaign having scored inside the final minute to defeat the Netherlands 18-13 at Navan Rugby Club on October 19.
The Wolfhounds led 10-0 at halftime through an Andy Quinn field goal and a two-yard run from Tom Donovan with Quinn tagging on the extra point. The Netherlands hit back with a touchdown before a safety increased Ireland’s advantage to five points, but that was soon wiped out as the Lions scored again and held a one-point lead late in the game.

Down 13-12, Ireland snatched a dramatic victory as quarterback Matthew O’Meara connected with John Hanbury from 15 yards out in traffic. Despite failing to convert a two-point try, Ireland held on for a memorable win as the Netherlands’ final Hail Mary pass fell incomplete.
An Irish win in Ankara will secure top spot in the group, while a win for the hosts will keep the competition open until November when the Netherlands take on Türkiye in Arnhem.
Sunday’s game will be broadcast live on TRT Sports Star channel.
