Team Ireland, aka, the Irish Wolfhounds, will host the Turkish national team at MTU Stadium in Cork, Ireland Saturday in a qualification game of the International Federation of American Football European Championships.
Both Ireland and Turkey lost their Group B qualification matchups last fall. The Wolfhounds were beaten by Team Spain 26-7 in Spain while Turkey lost to Team Israel.
While Ireland and Turkey battle it out to determine who finishes 15th and 16th overall, Spain and Israel play to decide who will face Team Germany to decide the winner of Group B.
This will be Ireland’s second game in these championships, as well as the team’s second game since 2019, when they narrowly defeated the Belgian National Team, 6-0. That was Ireland’s second victory over the Barbarians, having previously bested them the year before.
