LIVESTREAM IFAF EC: Great Britain @ Denmark, Oct. 28,16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am EDT).
In a weekend packed with International Federation of American Football action, the Great Britain Lions will travel to Copenhagen where they will face Denmark in the battle for fifth place in the 2023 IFAF Men’s European Championship.
The Danish squad are coming off a hard fought 13-7 win over Serbia in July. The game saw a pair of field goals and a rushing touchdown from quarterback Chris Carstens to help Denmark to a 13-0 lead before Serbia gave their best efforts in the closing minutes to cause an upset. A touchdown on fourth and goal put them within a score, before a hail mary with nine seconds remaining fell to the ground to close the game out.
Carstens will suit up as Denmark’s quarterback for the second time, with running back Andreas Brandsen joining him yet again in the backfield. They will once more bring back veteran offensive lineman Benjamin Qvist and receiver Thomas Zinck Thellufsen.
On defense, veteran pass rusher Mads Marquard Nielsen of the Copenhagen Towers will return to the squad as Denmark’s impressive defensive unit looks to stop Great Britain.

The GB Lions are coming off a defensive overtime victory over France in a game that ended 7-6 after a game-winning Alex Lenkowski point-after. The lone touchdown came from running back Aaron Sekwalor who will return to the roster this weekend.
Great Britain will see a change at quarterback as Josh Allsebrook makes his return to the States (Wisconsin Oshkosh, NCAA DIII). In his place, Britbowl MVP Sam Bloomfield (Manchester Titans) will be the Lions’ only listed quarterback in Copenhagen, linking up with Titans wideouts such as Adam Bamber and Max Gracie-Ainscough.
Perhaps the most impressive positional group on the Lions’ roster is the tight-end room, consisting of veteran and Swiss-army knife Sean Cook (Bristol Aztecs), NFL Academy graduate Henry Rowland (Leeds Beckett Carnegie) and CFL combine attendee Finley Old (University of Nottingham).
Defensively, cornerback Eddie Onamade will make his return to the squad after an impressive outing at the CFL international combine, supported by a cast of international veterans such as Sam Fossey and Will Hobbs.
The matchup will take place at Gentofte Sport Park in Copenhagen this Saturday, where both teams will battle to attain fifth place in Europe.
