Sunday, May 21, will see a rematch in the British American Football Association, BAFA, Premiership South division between the SGS Bristol Aztecs (1-1) and the Kent Exiles (0-3) at SGS College, Filton.
After the last matchup two weeks ago, which ended with the Aztecs taking a 47-0 win, the Exiles will be looking to make a statement and learn from their three consecutive losses.
The Aztecs are looking to be a strong side this year, with a star-studded offensive unit consisting of some of the best players from SGS Pride, championship winning side UWE Bullets and other universities local to Bristol.
Despite coming off a 28-16 loss to a very strong London Blitz side, there were a lot of positives to be taken back to Bristol.
On the ground the Aztecs have been solid, with a strong rotation of backs including Hosam Alzahrani (Bristol ‘Cuda), Karekin Brooks (USA, University of Pennsylvania, NCAA DI/University of West England) and newly signed Bath Killer Bees and Team GB u19 standout Lewis Munt. This will be complemented by a strong WR room, particularly ex-UWE Bullet Kevin Adams (USA, Dixie State, NCAA DII), who has snagged touchdowns in both games this season.

Defensively, Bristol (and ex-Cardiff University Cobra) defensive back Dan Bate has been a standout so far after snagging three interceptions including a pick six against the Exiles. Linebacker Ryan Davies has been leading the way up front, totaling seven tackles against the Blitz.
Sera Stolz (KCL Regents) has been struggling to get points on the board for the Exiles; in three games the Exiles have put up just six points, which came in a 70-6 blowout loss to the London Warriors.
They haven’t been any better on the other side of the ball, conceding over 55 points per game.
The Exiles will be looking for a drastic change if they want to stay in the premiership next year. The Aztecs, however, will undoubtedly be taking out the frustrations of their tough loss to Blitz and trying to iron out any flaws before they take on Cambridgeshire in two weeks, followed directly by two consecutive games against a struggling Solent Thrashers side.
