The Allgäu Comets (2-2) will host the Straubing Spiders (2-2) in a crucial German Football League matchup Sunday, June 30 in Kempten.

After losing their opening game, Allgäu won two straight before losing 46-20 to the Ravensburg Razorbacks. They fell just short to Schwäbisch Hall (58-57) in the first game, but rebounded with wins over the Razorbacks (56-28) and Saarland Hurricanes, 36-30. Straubing lost to the Munich Cowboys 31-7 to open the season, beat the Razorbacks 14-3 before losing to the Berlin Adler 26-21. They rebounded two weeks ago, whipping Saarland 40-12.

Comets quarterback Xeavier Bullock is the second leading passer in the GFL averaging 406.5 yards a game after throwing for 1,626 yards and 20 touchdowns in four games. The aerial attack will no doubt continue today. His top receiver is Nate Stewart who tops the GFL with 40 receptions for 624 yards and nine touchdowns. He is followed closely by Ahsan Moore with 19 receptions for 364 yards and six scores, and Dominik Hoerner with 16 catches for 361yards and two touchdowns.
Luis Wittmann is the main quarterback for the Spiders although backup Alexander Biebl has seen a fair amount of action. Wittmann has thrown for 547 yards in the five games while Biebl has just over 100. Colton Smith has 18 catches for 218 yards. Running back Kamal Cass has rushed for 194 yards with 141 of those coming against the Berlin Adler.
This could be a long afternoon for the Spiders who are dead last in the league in offense. They will need to find a way to slow down the Comets offense, particularly the passing game, to have any chance of winning on the road.
