The Kirchdorf Wildcats (1-4) head to Ravensburg to face the Ravensburg Razorbacks (2-5) in the lone game of the German Football League, Sunday, July 14.
For Ravensburg, the season has started to pick up after an early season slump. They lost a close one, 31-28, to the conference leading Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns after beating the Allgäu Comets 46-20. They had opened the season with tough losses to the Comets, 52-28, Straubing Spiders 14-3, Saarland Hurricanes, 44-32 and Hildesheim Invaders 31-30. In between they defeated the Munich Cowboys 32-17.
The Wildcats are coming off a solid 27-7 victory over the Munich Cowboys after suffering four straight losses to open the season. They were beaten 36-10 by the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns to open the season and then turned back 21-14 by the Munich Cowboys. The Berlin Rebels handed them a 33-17 loss and then the New Yorker Lions beat them 24-7.
For the Razorbacks, Broghean McGovern has thrown for 1,617 yards and 17 touchdowns with Michael Mayer as his main target with 29 catches for 489 yards and five scores. Pierre Moudourou has 27 receptions for 490 yards and five touchdowns. Running back Lennies McFerren has rushed for 413 yards and four touchdowns in the six games he has played in.
For Kirchdorf, quarterback Armani Edden has thrown for a total of 729 yards and four touchdowns in the five games. The Wildcats leading rusher, Sebastian Mattscheck, has only rushed for 116 yards. Without a ground game, today’s game will be a tough one for the visiting Wildcats.
