The Hildesheim Invaders (4-1) who have won four in a row after losing their opening game, will host the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (2-3), June 29 in German Football League action.
After opening the season by losing 56-21 to the defending champion Potsdam Royals, the Invaders have won four straight first beating the Berlin Adler 49-42, the Berlin Rebels 36-19, Paderborn Dolphins 50-31 and then the Ravensburg Razorbacks in overtime 31-30.
Kiel opened the season by matching their win total from 2023 by beating the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions in their opening game doubling up on them 28-14. They then were beaten 21-19 by the Dolphins and by Potsdam 56-23 before dropping a tough one to the Dresden Monarchs, 22-11. They rebounded last week with a dominant 56-24 win over the Berlin Rebels.

Hildesheim quarterback Nelson Hughes has thrown for 1,175 yards and 13 touchdowns in the five games with Lennart Stukenborg being his main target with 21 receptions for 223 yards and two scores and running back Jordan Grant who has 15 receptions for 151 yards. Grant has rushed for 372 yards and three scores, good for third in overall yardage while Hughes has rushed for 286 yards and four touchdowns.
Hurricanes quarterback Nate Hayden has thrown for 895 yards and 10 touchdowns in the five games with Isaiah Harris as his main target. Harris has hauled in 30 passes for 425 yards and three touchdowns. The Kiel ground game has been solid with Lorenz Rotermund rushing for 455 yards and four touchdowns.
This could be an interesting matchup. Hildesheim has a slight edge playing at home but their scare against Ravensburg shows they can be vulnerable.
