LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Berlin Rebels @ Paderborn Dolphins, June 18, 15:00 (3 pm, 9 am EDT).:
The 1-3 Paderborn Dolphins will host the 3-1 Berlin Rebels as week five of German Football League action wraps up on Sunday.
The Rebels are coming off their first loss of the season against the undefeated Potsdam Royals.
Although the loss was far from ideal for the previously unbeaten Berlin side, there were still positives to take from the highly anticipated matchup; despite the Royals averaging 43.5 points-per-game before facing the Rebels, Berlin managed to hold the Jaylon Henderson (USA, Boise State, NCAA DI) led offense to just 21 points.
The ground game was where the Rebels’ defense struggled the most, allowing over 200 rushing yards and an average of 7.3 yards-per-carry.
Offensively, the Rebels seemed to have all their weapons shut down by the Royals; Connor Kaegi went 8/21 through the air, totalling just 80 yards with no scores and an interception, while Tyrese Johnson-Fisher and Tom Heyroth failed to break 100 rushing yards over 20 carries.
The Dolphins are on a three-game losing streak, with their latest coming to the Berlin Adler, who breezed past Paderborn by a score of 31-0.
The Paderborn offense sits bottom three for both yards and points-per-game, while their defense has conceded more points (144) than any other team in the GFL by a considerable margin.
If the week one matchup which saw the Rebels beat their Berlin rivals 21-13 is anything to go off, the Rebels should be expected not to struggle against the Dolphins.
