LIVESTREAM Germany PPV: Berlin Rebels @ Hildesheim Invaders, Aug. 31, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am EDT)
The Hildesheim Invaders (7-3) will host the Berlin Rebels (5-6) in a German Football League game that Hildesheim needs to win to stay in third place in the GFL North standings with the playoffs looming.
A loss to Berlin would put the Invaders third place in jeopardy as the New Yorker Lions sit fourth with a 6-5 record and the two teams meet in the final game of the regular season next weekend. A loss today and then to Braunschweig would bump Hildesheim down to fourth and a date with the GFL South leading Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns in the quarterfinals.
Hildesheim is coming off a two-game losing streak after getting pounded 69-14 last week and 45-16 by the Dresden Monarchs the week before. Prior to the two losses, the Invaders had won seven straight. They beat the Berlin Adler 49-42, the Berlin Rebels 36-19, Paderborn Dolphins 50-31 and the Ravensburg Razorbacks in overtime 31-30. They then downed the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes 43-34 before whipping the Kirchdorf Wildcats 56-7. They were pushed by the Berlin Adler but came away with a narrow 38-36 victory on July 27. They opened the season with a 56-21 loss to Potsdam.
