The Berlin Rebels (0-2) will host the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (0-3) in this German Football League North matchup between two winless teams.
The Hurricanes are looking to get their first win of the season against a Berlin squad also badly in need of a victory.
The Rebels have shown two very different playstyles this season. They were dominated by the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions in their season opener 0-31 however, the resilient Rebels fought back in a rematch taking the defending champions down to the wire before loosing 29-22. Against the tough Lions defense, French running back Andreas Betza ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Darius Wade found Paul Morant at the pylon to score the game tying touchdown late in the fourth, only to lose the game in the final seconds. Against Kiel, fans can expect Betza to have another big day on the ground as his speed causes a mismatch with Hurricane defenders.

Defensively, the Rebels matchup well with Kiel. Veteran safety Paul Morant will be a key player as he looks to take away Kiel’s best receiver Weston Carr. At the line of scrimmage, slippery defensive end Faye Said aims to get after the Hurricanes quarterback.
Kiel lost their starting signal caller Joe Germinerio two weeks ago. The experienced college quarterback was replaced by German Henrik Wol who performed admirably last week, completing 10 of 19 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Wolk was able to find former Penn State receiver Weston Carr often as the two connected for the teams only points. On the ground, expect the Hurricanes to get Lorenz Rotermund the ball more as he broke a 32-yard run against Cologne last week. Irish receiver Tom Donovan could also be a X factor for this team.
Defensively, the Hurricanes aim to contain dangerous Frenchman Andreas Betza. The man for the job is speedy linebacker Darin Hungerford. Hungerford has been one of the team’s bright spots as his 40 tackles in three games make him the German Football League’s top tackler entering week four.
Fans are not sure what to make of this Rebels team after two very different performances to start the season. This week Berlin aims to show their true form against a Kiel team still searching for their identity.
