The 7-2 Dresden Monarchs, Europe #11,will play host to the lowly 0-9 Hamburg Huskies Sunday July 8 at Dresden’s Heinz Steyer Stadion in German Football League North action.
The two teams met earlier this year with Dresden winning easily 42-6.
Despite dropping two of the last five, the Monarchs have looked impressive so far in 2018. They have the third highest scoring offense in Germany averaging 38.1 points a game and the defense is fifth allowing 24.1.
Trenton Norvell of the Dresden Monarchs is the 2nd leading passer in Germany with 2,665 yards and 31 TDs. His leading receiver is Mitchell Paige who leads all receivers in Germany and has caught 76 passes for 1,1391 yards and a league-leading 16 TDs.
AJ Wentland of the Dresden Monarchs is a tackling machine and with 22 (!) tackles last week again tops the GFL with a whopping 127 tackles in 9 games.He has had 3 games of 20+ tackles.
Hamburg quarterback Moritz Maack has replaced Quentin Williams in the last three games and has thrown for 569 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Colby Goodwyn is carrying a heavy load and is the third leading rusher in Germany with 736 yards, averaging 82 yards a game.
This will be a tough assignment for Hamburg in the last game before the month-long break. Look for Dresden to improve to 8-2.
