The Stuttgart Scorpions (0-3) will host the Frankfurt Universe (0-2) in this GFL South matchup.
These teams are disappointed with how their season has started but have a chance to win today against an equally struggling opponent. This game could be vital down the stretch as neither of these teams wants to be facing relegation this fall.
Frankfurt has lost its first two games of the season 0-155. The offense has struggled to hold on to the ball as turnovers, bad snaps, and penalties have been the story of the season so far. Frankfurt has turned the ball over ten times in two games and is the only team in Germany’s top league yet to score a point. That being said, one exciting athlete on this offense is French running back Jason Bofunda. The French national team back has the speed to get the edge on most GFL defenses. At quarterback, the Universe have rotated three different players as American import Terrance Shambry III and German talents Lucas Rudiger and Ferras El-Hendi have all been under center for Frankfurt this season.

American Brandon Butler has been a X factor for this Mele Mosqueda coached squad as the former US Air Force airman living in Germany has been a versatile weapon this season. The former wrestler and basketball player took a kick return back for a touchdown last week only to have a penalty take away Frankfurt’s first points of the season. The versatile Butler also had four catches for 62 yards and made a tackle on defense. Don’t be surprised to see the airmen score Frankfurt’s first touchdown of the season today.
Stuttgart is also coming off of a tough loss as they left Munich with a 62-6 defeat. The Scorpions are under new leadership as Cesare de Pauli has taken over for coach Jeff Scurran. Quarterback Wyatt Hutchinson and running back Giacamo de Pauli make for an athletic backfield that can burn teams on the ground.
On defense, look for the Scorpions to continue the family affair as linebacker Geronimo Depauli is the team’s leading tackler. Defensive lineman Leon Epple provides a strong pass rush that looks to disrupt a struggling Frankfurt passing game.
Fans can expect this Stuttgart team to play well as they are eager to earn their first win in front of 750 fans allowed in their home stadium. The Universe, on the other hand, have a chance to catch the Scorpions in this trap game.
