The 1-1 Kiel Baltic Hurricanes will host the 0-4 Cologne Crocodiles Saturday, June 1 at Kilia Stadion in fifth round action in the German Football League.
In the two games between these teams in 2018, Cologne won the first 32-14 and they played to a 22-22 tie in the second.
Kiel lost their first game of the season to the Dresden Monarchs 42-14 and then downed the Dusseldorf Panther 37-17 in the other game. Meanwhile, Cologne has dropped four straight losing to the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions 23-6 and 45-7 and then losing 31-14 to the Hildesheim Invaders and 17-0 to Dresden.
Hurricanes QB Jake Purichia (Indianapolis) has thrown for 395 yards and two touchdowns but tossed three interceptions. Wide receiver Kwame Ofori has caught 12 passes for 135 yards. Running back Julian Ampaw has 138 yards rushing and three touchdowns but 121 of those yards came against Dusseldorf.
For Cologne, new QB Conor Miller had a tough day against Dresden last week throwing for a total of 79 yards. He had replaced Jan Weinreich who has thrown for 275 yards and two touchdowns but has been picked off four times. RB Colby Goodwyn, who was the 2nd leading rusher in the GFL with Hamburg in 2018, has 399 yards rushing so far and against the Monarchs rushed for 129 yards. He is due for a breakout game after putting up excellent numbers against the second best front seven in Germany last week.
This game is a toss up.
