The Berlin Rebels (2-2) will travel to face the defending champion and undefeated Potsdam Royals (3-0) in a German Football League North matchup Saturday, June 15.
After losing a tough game to their cross town rival, the Berlin Adler, last week 27-18, the Rebels will look to give Potsdam their first loss of the 2024 GFL season.
Similar to the tune of the 2023 season, the secret to success for the Royals is through their offense and signal caller Jaylon Henderson. Just to show how dominant Potsdam has been, they are the only team to score 50+ points in each of their games this season.
Watch live PPV. Berlin Rebels @ Potsdam Royals, June 15, 16:00 CET (4 pm, 10 am EDT)
The QB/WR duo of Jaylon Henderson and Brenden Beaulieu has been dominating the league so far. Through their three games, Henderson and Beaulieu have connected for nine scores and 450 yards. Henderson is also the GFL leader in passing touchdowns (19) and completion percentage with an absurd 80.2%.
On the other side, the story for the Rebels season has also relied heavily on their starting quarterback as well. First year man Tyquel Fields has been doing everything he can to help propel this Berlin team to victory. Fields is fifth in the GFL in passing yards with 834 yards. However, the Rebels signal caller does most of his damage on the ground as he leads the league in rushing yards (407) and touchdowns (8).
Another strong point for the Rebels is their passing defense. The Berlin defense has been the fourth best in the GFL when defending the pass, letting up only 176 passing yards a game. While it will be tough to stop the Royals air attack, the Rebels may have the best chance so far out of any of Potsdam’s previous opponents.
Traveling to Potsdam and facing one of the best teams in the GFL will be a tough task for the Rebels. Fields and Berlin may have a chance to take down the giant of the GFL North but they will need everything to fall into place at the right time. If not, they will be added to the Royals’ list of vanquished foes.
