The FFFA D1 Elite (Federation Francaise de Football Americain) kicks off its second round of play with the defending champion La Courneuve Flash (1-0) playing host to the Saint-Ouen Cougars (0-1).
The Flash are coming off a solid 26-14 win over the Asnieres Molosses on the opening weekend of play while Saint-Ouen suffered a lopsided 38-14 loss at the hands of the Thonon Black Panthers following a first half collapse.
La Courneuve quarterback Leo Cremades who has veteran Canadian receiver Ben Von Jagow and versatile DB/WR Miles Corpening to throw to should have a comfortable day as the Flash offense looked impressive in their first game. Although the Flash lost a number of players to the new Paris ELF team, they still have a strong core to rely on.
For the Cougars, this is a tough matchup but if quarterback Mateo Renteria, who had a prolific NCAA career at the College of Wooster (NCAA D3), throwing for over 10,000 yards, can begin finding his receivers who include French national team pass catcher Jeff Alexandre, Saint-Ouen could surprise.
These two teams faced each other three times in 2022 with the Flash coming out on top in all three games.
