The 3-2 Montpellier Hurricanes head to Grenoble in the French Alps Sunday, April 7, to face the 2-3 Grenoble Centaures in French American Football Federation mid-season action.
The two teams faced each other once earlier in the season with the Hurricanes coming out on top 46-25.
Grenoble enters the game on a two-game losing streak having lost to the Thonon Black Panthers 35-3 and then getting blanked by the Marseille Blue Stars 24-0. Quarterback Sonny Weishaupt is the fourth leading passer in France with his 804 yards but in the two losses threw for only 200 yards total.
The Hurricanes suffered a lopsided defeat to the Black Panthers as well, getting whipped 68-14. Quarterback Hunter Hughes, who is the second leading passer with 1,400 yards passing and 14 touchdown passes, threw for 264 yards in the loss to Thonon, but the Montpellier ground game was non existent in that contest. Wide receiver Quentin Gramage added to his league leading reception yardage total with 172 yards against Thonon. If the duo catches fire in this game, Grenoble’s secondary will have problems.
