The 2-0 Montpellier Hurricanes will play host to the 2-1 Marseille Blue Stars, Saturday, March 2 in the fourth week of action in the Fédération Française de Football Américain (French Federation of American Football) top league.
In the wins over the Grenoble Centaures and the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons, Hurricanes quarterback Hunter Hughes has been superb, completing 35 of 51 passes for 623 yards and eight touchdowns. However, against the Centaures, he threw three interceptions. Hughes leading receiver, Quentin Gramage had nine receptions for 213 yards and four touchdowns while Adrien Darmana (199 yds, 2 TDs) and Deric Manzolo (125 yds, 2 TD) are also keys. Running back Teddy Bertrand has carried the ball 18 times for 80 yards.
Marseille opened the season with two convincing wins, beating the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes 24-0 and then trouncing the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons 49-8. However, last week they were brought down to earth dropping a close 20-18 decision to the Thonon Black Panthers. Quarterback Chase Burton has been solid completing a total of 42 of 74 passes for 622 yards and seven touchdowns. His leading receivers are Rudy Dumar (12 rec/305 yds/4 TDs) and Hadrien Lynda (11 rec/109 yds/1 TD). The Blue Stars have rushed for a total of 167 yards in three games.
