A week following a hard-fought loss to Europe’s #2 team, the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions, the Flash of La Courneuve host the club’s most heated national rival, the Aix-en-Provence Argonautes, in the annual grudge match, the Ballard Bowl.
The Ballard Bowl is the annual showdown between the Flash and the Argonautes and pits the north versus the south.
The Flash currently sit in third place in the French Federation of American Football standings, with a 4-2 record. Their only two losses have come at the hands of the league-leading Thonon Black Panthers and the second place Saint-Ouen Cougars. The Argonautes have struggled losing four straight after opening the year with a win over the Rouen Leopards.
The Flash will need quarterback Paul Durand to get the passing game going. Running back Nicolas Khandar is the leading rusher in France, and Jason Aguemon is 5th.
Argonautes quarterback Niko Fortino is the third leading passer in France so far with 854 yards passing in five games. Still, Aix-en-Provence has only produced 48 points and will need more offensive production to have any chance of winning.
