The Les Cougars de Saint-Ouen-L’Aumône (0-4) will play host to the La Corneuve Flash (4-0) as the French D1 Elite winds up the fifth round of play Sunday, March 9

The Cougars have lost their four opening games dropping a 20-2 decision to the Diables Rouges and then losing 24-21 to the Rouen Leopards. They were then pounded 56-0 by the Thonon Black Panthers before being shut out 30-0 by the Asnieres Molosses.

La Courneuve edged the defending champion Thonon Black Panthers 6-5 to start the season and then defeated the Molosses 22-12 in Week #2. The Flash then blanked the Rouen Leopards 34-0 before getting by the Diables Rouges 16-7.

Cougars quarterback Ashley Bailey has thrown for 339 yards and three touchdowns in the four games.

For the Flash, Leo Cremades is behind center and has completed 41 of 72 passes for 546 yards and six touchdowns with his favorite target, Yoann Gau having caught nine passes for 129 yards. La Corneuve running back Jason Bofunda is the second leading running back in the league after having rushed for 328 yards and two scores.

This should be a comfortable win for the visiting Flash although Saint-Ouen surprised La Courneuve in 2024 handing them a 14-13 loss.
