LIVESTREAM: France – La Courneuve Flash @Asnieres Molosses, Sat. April 6, 7:30p CEDT (1:30p EDT)
The 4-0-2 Asnieres Molosses will play host to the 1-3-1 La Courneuve Flash Saturday, April 6 at Stade Leo Lagrange in Paris as the French American Football League heads into late season play.
The Molosses have already beaten the Flash once this year, 9-2 and are coming off of two straight wins, beating the Rouen Leopards 7-0 and whipping the Saint Ouen Cougars 32-7. Meanwhile, La Courneuve have lost their last two, dropping a 33-9 decision to the Cougars and getting edged by the Evry Corsaires 16-12.
To say the Molosses are relying on their defense might be an understatement. So far the offense has scored a total of 75 points in six games but the defense has given up a mere 23 points!
The Molosses are playing without imports so young French QB, Camille Thouary leads the offense. So far this season he has thrown for 650 yards although he had one 10 yard passing game.
The Flash are a far cry from the team that won its second of two straight French titles a year ago. They have scored a total of 57 points and allowed 85. The departure of quarterback Paul Durand has left a gaping hole to fill and even if Durand is coaching the team’s two quarterbacks, they are more than just struggling.
The Flash will be hard pressed to score on the Asnieres defense while Thouary & Co. will find a way to get on the board.
